When installed by specialists, these can provide a reliable solution for years. To explore how we work with concrete gutter liners, continue reading.
Potential Problems with Concrete Guttering
After 30+ years, concrete gutters can begin to break down. This can lead to water finding a route through the mortared joints to seep behind the concrete gutter and cause damp inside upstairs rooms of your home.
Our team have seen many attempts to seal gutters back up, including lead lining, tar, roof sealand and DIY kits from online. However, these have provided only a short term solution, which isn’t helpful for any homeowner.
How Concrete Gutter Lining Can Help
When called out, our team installs concrete gutter liners using a thick grade EPDM seamless liner. A key benefit of this is the 20 – 50 years minimum life expectancy, for a reliable solution.
When installing concrete gutter lining, we go above and beyond to ensure a secure fit. Instead of simply laying the liner in your concrete guttering, we begin by stripping off many rows of tiles – including hip tiles. Next, we lay one large liner – which measures up to 2 metres wide – along the length of your guttering system to keep both your gutter and upstairs rooms dry!
We also clean your gutters of debris and previous repair solutions, as this helps to provide you with the same water capacity as when the gutter was installed. We treble seal all corner and mitred joints using an overlap system, which helps prevent your liner from leaking. Through the downpipe hole we feed specially fabricated outlets to avoid water penetrating elsewhere.
